Tailored Taste by Halima Ferreira Plant Based Nutritionist / Private Chef / Food Architect and Consultant Throughout the UK and Globally
Helping people achieve a healthy diet
My journey has been a long, arduous one. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with an auto immune condition and under a lot of stress, I almost lost my life. Being rushed to hospital at 4am was a turning point for me. I knew I had to make big changes to my life.
The diagnosis was ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease – but even now the doctors still can’t decide on an exact diagnosis. I was frustrated, tired and in pain, with chronic fatigue and depression. I was put on medication but there was absolutely no mental or emotional support available. One thing I knew – I didn’t want to be on medication for life. And so, began my journey to health and wellness and understanding the power of good nutrition and healthy food.
The power of plant-based nutrition
I searched for a plant-based nutrition diploma to learn about transitioning and the benefits of a whole food diet. I began to learn about culinary medicine, and I now combine my international experience as a health chef, with my plant-based nutrition knowledge – to help my clients change their approach to food and adopt healthier eating habits.
How I use culinary medicine to help clients
Culinary medicine is a unique combination of nutrition and culinary knowledge. This was it! I’d found my mission and where my expertise lay!
Culinary medicine celebrates real food. It’s a bridge between nutrition and the practical skills to implement in the kitchen.
By combining my years of experience as a dedicated chef and training as a plant- based nutritionist, I could help clients reach good, personal, food-based decisions about accessing and eating high quality meals, to improve their diet and lifestyle – for the long-term. Helping them to restore wellbeing.
My work now involves empowering clients to take charge of their health, to manage food habits and live with any health conditions from a point of strength and control.
Blending the art of food and cooking with the science of medicine
What we eat affects our health and wellbeing. Some of it is influenced by the source and type of food. Culinary medicine celebrates real food. It’s a bridge between good nutrition and the practical skills you need to implement in the kitchen.
I combine my international experience as a health chef, with my plant based nutrition knowledge to help my clients change their approach to food.
I can help you learn to cook nourishing meals at home benefiting not just your own, but your family’s health too.
